Kyiv has faced multiple drone attacks this month, marking the fifth airstrike since early September. Ukrainian military officials reported that all incoming threats were intercepted, ensuring the safety of the capital.
Amidst these attacks, Ukraine is advancing its military capabilities. President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the successful deployment of a new drone missile, the "Palyanytsia," which was developed domestically over the past year and a half. This drone is designed to target Russian military airfields located 600 to 700 kilometers away.
Ukrainian defense analysts indicate that the Palyanytsia is equipped with advanced navigation systems and a turbojet engine, allowing for higher speeds compared to traditional drones. The cost of this drone is reportedly lower than that of similar missiles, with expectations for further price reductions as production scales up.
In addition to the Palyanytsia, Ukraine has modified its Neptune missile system, increasing its range to approximately 400 kilometers, thus enhancing its strike capabilities against both naval and ground targets.
Despite the ongoing attacks, Ukrainian forces have maintained their resolve, with recent reports indicating that at least eight people were killed and over 30 injured from Russian strikes in the last 24 hours. Ukraine continues to adapt and innovate in its defense strategies while facing persistent threats.
