Ukrainian air forces reported the interception of six out of eight drones and two out of three missiles during a recent nighttime attack across four regions, including Kyiv.
Authorities in Kyiv confirmed that this attack, marking the fifth in September, resulted in no damages or injuries within the capital.
In response to a surge in Russian missile and drone strikes, Kyiv has urged Western allies for urgent air defense and long-range strike capabilities to counter these threats.
On the same day, air defense systems successfully shot down aerial targets in the Kyiv region, with debris causing two fires in open areas, which have since been extinguished.
In the central Dnipropetrovsk region, Governor Serhii Lîsak reported the downing of two missiles and a reconnaissance drone. However, Russian bombardments on the city of Nikopol resulted in injuries to three individuals and the death of a 16-year-old girl.
Additionally, air defenses in the central Cherkasy region destroyed a drone, with debris causing a fire that has been contained.
The Energy Ministry indicated that Russian forces also targeted energy facilities across seven regions within a 24-hour period, although the extent of the damage remains unspecified.
