Riyadh - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated on March 13 that Russia and the United States have agreed to exchange diplomatic staff. Discussions also addressed obstacles in diplomatic work during a meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Lavrov emphasized the need to find common ground, despite acknowledging differences with the U.S., particularly regarding the Ukraine conflict. The U.S. side was represented by officials including U.S. Foreign Minister Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan. This marks the first meeting between the two sides since the start of Russia's invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022. The Saudi Foreign Ministry noted these talks support global security and peace.
