US and UK Trade Deal Announced; EU Considers Countermeasures on US Imports

Edited by: Eugeniy Konovalov

On May 8, U.S. President Donald Trump and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced a trade deal aimed at reducing barriers and expanding market access. Details were initially limited, but the agreement seeks to boost trade between the two countries.

The European Commission has proposed countermeasures on U.S. imports in response to tariffs imposed by the U.S. These measures could target a range of U.S. products, including wine, fish, aircraft, cars, and machinery. The EU will consult on these measures before making a final decision.
