Edited: President of the United States of America Donald Trump stated that Washington should not have intervened in the war in Ukraine and spent billions of dollars on supporting Kyiv.
He said this during a conversation with journalists.
According to him, Washington has spent hundreds of billions of dollars on aid to Ukraine. Trump again criticized the previous US administration, stating that it had transferred a significant amount of funds and ammunition to Ukraine.
"We are spending billions. We shouldn't have gotten involved in Ukraine. Ukraine is thousands of miles away from us, across the ocean. We had a president — just a fool: he gave them 350 billion dollars, getting nothing in return," he said.
Trump also said that due to the transfer of ammunition to Ukraine, the US is now actively increasing its production within the country and noted that the United States is currently selling ammunition to Ukraine, and for this, according to him, the European Union is paying.
