Iran Rejects European Calls to De-escalate Tensions with Israel

The Iranian government has firmly rejected calls from France, Germany, and the United Kingdom to avoid escalating tensions with Israel, labeling such requests as "politically illogical" and contrary to international law principles.

This statement follows a joint note from the three European nations urging Tehran and its allies not to undertake attacks against Israel after the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the political leader of Hamas, in Tehran last month. Iran and Hezbollah, the Lebanese Shiite group, hold Israel responsible for the assassination.

Nasser Kanaani, spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, criticized the European declaration, asserting that the three countries appear to ignore the crimes committed by Israel while asking Iran to refrain from responding to what is seen as a violation of Iranian sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Kanaani's remarks reflect Tehran's ongoing refusal to yield to international pressures, reinforcing its defiant stance against Western powers and Israel amid rising regional tensions.
