Strategy game enthusiasts can mark their calendars for February 11, 2025, as Firaxis Games has announced the official release date for 'Sid Meier's Civilization VII'. The announcement was made during the Gamescom event in Germany, where a new gameplay trailer was also unveiled. This release is particularly anticipated as it follows 'Civilization VI', which launched in 2016.
Unlike previous titles in the franchise that were initially released on PC followed by console versions, 'Sid Meier's Civilization VII' will be available on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox consoles, and Nintendo Switch simultaneously.
Meanwhile, Bioware is set to release 'Dragon Age: The Veilguard' on October 31, 2023, coinciding with Halloween. The developers shared insights regarding the PC version, highlighting that 40% of their testing and optimization efforts, amounting to 200,000 hours, have been dedicated to ensuring a smooth experience across various computer configurations.
The PC version will feature an interface optimized for both keyboard and mouse players, as well as support for Xbox controllers and the DualSense controller from PS5, including haptic feedback. Additionally, it will support ultrawide screens, real-time ray tracing, and technologies like NVIDIA DLSS 3, AMD FSR 2.2, and Intel XeSS, alongside NVIDIA Reflex to reduce latency. Collaboration with Steam ensures that the game is natively compatible with the Steam Deck, allowing for seamless gameplay transitions.
