Stree 2 Breaks Box Office Records with ₹515.05 Crore Collection

The horror-comedy film Stree 2, featuring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, has made a significant impact at the domestic box office since its release. After experiencing a slight decline in earnings on the third Tuesday compared to previous days, the film has still managed to rake in impressive figures.

In its first week, Stree 2 earned ₹307.80 crore, followed by ₹145.80 crore in its second week. The earnings continued with ₹9.25 crore on the third Friday, ₹17.40 crore on the third Saturday, ₹22.10 crore on the third Sunday, ₹7.05 crore on the third Monday, and ₹5.65 crore on the third Tuesday.

Overall, Stree 2 has amassed a total of ₹515.05 crore at the Indian box office. Remarkably, within just 20 days of its release, it surpassed the lifetime domestic box office collection of Bahubali 2: The Conclusion (Hindi version), which earned ₹510.99 crore.

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh commented on the film's box office success, noting that the absence of strong competition from new releases could propel it toward the ₹600 crore mark.

There is potential for additional growth in Stree 2's collection, especially since media reports suggest that the Hindi version of Thalapathy Vijay's The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) may not be released in major multiplex chains like PVR Inox, Cinepolis, and Miraj Cinema.

Directed by Amar Kaushik and written by Niren Bhatt, Stree 2 follows the story of a female tailor, Vicky, and her friends as they strive to free their town, Chanderi, from the terror of the 'Sarkata' spirit. The film features a strong cast, including Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, Sunil Kumar, and Aparshakti Khurana, with cameos by Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan, and Tamannaah Bhatia. Stree 2 was released alongside Veda, starring John Abraham and Sharvari Wagh, and Game Game featuring Akshay Kumar on Independence Day 2024.
