The ProEtnica Festival 2024 is set to be a landmark event, celebrating its 20th edition from August 28 to September 1 in the Medieval Citadel of Sighișoara, Romania. Under the High Patronage of President Klaus Werner Iohannis, this year’s festival will spotlight a variety of cultural activities aimed at promoting diversity and intercultural dialogue.

The festival will kick off on August 28 with the 'Agora of Cultural Dialogue,' featuring discussions on the evolution of ProEtnica over the past 20 editions. This event will take place in the Baroque Hall of the Sighișoara City Hall and will include a round table with representatives from the Department for Interethnic Relations, the Ministry of Culture, and the National Agency for Roma.

A highlight of the festival will be the exhibition 'Community. Multiculturalism. Development,' opening on September 1 at Sala Sander, organized in collaboration with the Hanns Seidel Foundation and the Department for Interethnic Relations of the Romanian Government. This exhibition will be accompanied by various displays throughout the festival.

According to organizers, hundreds of artists representing 20 national minorities in Romania will perform on the stage in the Medieval Square, offering the audience an unforgettable show. Over five days, participants can enjoy recitals, traditional music performances, and dances specific to each community, all within a diverse and captivating artistic program.
