Ibiza's Festival Club Gets a Makeover, Thanks to 425kg of Trash Removal and a Street Art Workshop

A group of 25 volunteers, led by the environmental organization Creatives for the Planet, tackled the daunting task of cleaning up the abandoned Festival Club in Sant Josep, Ibiza. The site, once a vibrant entertainment hub, has fallen into disrepair, becoming a haven for graffiti artists, bottle parties, and airsoft battles, leaving behind a mountain of trash.

In a single hour and a half, the volunteers collected a staggering 425 kilograms of waste, including 80 kilograms of bulky items such as mattresses, televisions, hammocks, chairs, and even a safe. The cleanup effort also yielded 25 kilograms of glass, 150 kilograms of containers, 30 kilograms of general waste, and a whopping 140 kilograms of spray cans, which will be recycled by Pinturas Rubio.

The event culminated in a street art workshop led by renowned artist Aïda Miró, who has a long history of creating art within the Festival Club's ruins. The workshop aimed to educate aspiring artists about environmental consciousness, leaving a lasting impact on the participants and the community.

This inspiring initiative serves as a powerful reminder that our planet is our home, and we must actively protect and care for it. The cleanup and art workshop at Festival Club demonstrate the transformative power of community action and the importance of environmental awareness.
