A new book, "Simple, Not Easy," by fitness expert Raj Ganpath, challenges the current fitness landscape by prioritizing simplicity, empathy, and long-term health. Ganpath argues that the fitness industry often focuses on quick fixes and unrealistic goals, leaving many feeling overwhelmed and discouraged. Instead, he advocates for a more holistic approach that emphasizes consistency, accessibility, and self-compassion. The book, divided into seven sections covering nutrition, movement, sleep, weight loss, stress, and consistency, aims to empower individuals to take control of their own fitness journey. Ganpath stresses that fitness is not just about achieving a certain physique, but about improving overall well-being and functionality for everyday life. "The whole fitness industry is built around making you dependent on something -- be it a workout or a diet program. The book however preaches the opposite, that you do not need to know or remember so many things, and appeals to your logical side," says Ganpath. He also emphasizes the importance of empathy in fitness discourse, recognizing that individuals have different needs and challenges. "Fitness is not just for athletes or actors, and shouldn't be restricted to looks or performance. For the common person, we need to keep in mind that they are doing this in addition to their jobs, their lifestyle issues, amidst work stress, late nights and a host of other things. Empathy is a necessity," he says. Ganpath's book offers a refreshing perspective on fitness, encouraging individuals to embrace a more sustainable and compassionate approach to their well-being.
