Three offshore wind power projects in the Philippines have achieved a significant milestone, earning Certificates of Confirmation of Commerciality (CoCoC) for a combined capacity of 1,650 megawatts (MW).
The consortium includes Triconti Windkraft Group, Sea Wind Holdings, and Stream Invest Holding, preparing for the country's first Green Energy Auction for Offshore Wind in 2025.
The leading project, the 450 MW Frontera Bay Wind Power Project, is located off Cavite and Bataan, while the 1,200 MW Guimaras Strait Project I and II will be developed in two phases of 600 MW each.
All projects utilize fixed-bottom foundations and are the first to complete the pre-development phase in the Philippine Offshore Wind Industry.
With the CoCoC secured, these projects transition to the operational phase, focusing on detailed planning and construction.
The Philippine Development Plan targets 15.3 GW of clean energy generation by 2030, with 3 to 6 GW expected from offshore wind.
