Trump Alleges US Media Bias, CBS Settles Lawsuit After Editing Harris Interview

President Donald Trump has accused CBS of election interference, alleging the network edited an interview with Vice President Kamala Harris to make her appear more competent. Trump sued CBS for $5 billion, claiming the network altered Harris's words on the question of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a 2024 election interview.

The interview, originally aired on CBS's "Face The Nation" and later on "60 Minutes," featured Harris responding to a question about Netanyahu. Trump claimed that CBS edited the interview for "60 Minutes" to make Harris appear more competent.

After Trump came to power, he requested the Federal Communication Commission to order the tape of the full interview, which CBS provided. The complete interview is now public and shows Harris appearing to be less articulate and more hesitant in her responses.

CBS has agreed to settle the lawsuit with Trump. The network has not publicly commented on the allegations, but has acknowledged the settlement.

Trump has also accused the US Agency for International Development (USAID) of using government funds to support pro-Democratic Party newspapers, specifically citing the online publication "Politico."

These allegations come amid a broader discussion about media bias and the role of journalism in the US political landscape.
