Moscow Drone Attack Kills One

One person has died in Moscow after debris from a downed Ukrainian drone struck an apartment block, igniting a fire. The incident occurred in the Ramenskoye district early on September 10, 2024, damaging at least two high-rise buildings and prompting emergency responses across the region.

According to Moscow regional Governor Andrei Vorobyov, the drone debris caused significant damage, with reports indicating that five flats were destroyed. City mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed that emergency teams were dispatched to multiple locations, including areas near major airports, resulting in the suspension of over 30 flights.

Russia's defense systems reportedly intercepted more than 70 Ukrainian drones during the night, with at least 15 intercepted in and around Moscow. In a related incident, Governor Aleksander Bogomaz reported that 59 UAVs were intercepted in the Bryansk region, which borders Ukraine, describing the attack as massive but without casualties.

This event comes amid ongoing tensions as Ukraine has accelerated the development of its drone capabilities to target Russian infrastructure. Meanwhile, air raid alerts were issued in Kyiv, marking another escalation in the conflict.
