Spanish Athletes Shine at the 44th International Cross of Venta de Baños

The 44th International Cross of Venta de Baños in Palencia showcased the dominance of Spanish athletes, with Nassim Hassaous and Carolina Robles emerging victorious in their respective categories.

Nassim Hassaous, who recently clinched gold at the European Cross Country Championships, confirmed his status as the favorite by completing the 9,250-meter circuit in a time of 29:38. Reflecting on his win, Hassaous expressed pride in competing among esteemed athletes from around the world.

In the men's race, Aarón Las Heras finished second, just seven seconds behind Hassaous, while Javier Guerra secured third place.

The women's race was equally competitive, with Carolina Robles triumphing in challenging weather conditions, clocking in at 33:56. Robles noted the difficulties posed by the cold, contrasting her training in warmer climates with the frigid conditions on race day.

In the battle for podium positions, Cristina Ruíz edged out Carla Gallardo in the final stretch, finishing second, while Gallardo took third, 24 seconds behind the winner.
