New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand announced that Congress will receive an update from the Pentagon regarding unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs) soon, emphasizing its importance as a priority.
Gillibrand, who chairs the Senate Armed Services Committee's subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities, stated her intention to obtain a progress report on UAP assessments and analyses.
She aims to enhance public trust in the Department of Defense's All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), which investigates UFOs. Recently, Jon Kosloski, an expert in quantum optics and crypto-mathematics, was appointed to lead the AARO.
The anticipated hearing is likely to occur after the upcoming November 5 election. Last year, Gillibrand criticized the AARO for being underfunded.
In a contrasting view, her Republican opponent, retired NYPD Detective Mike Sapraicone, suggested that Gillibrand's focus on UFOs may divert attention from pressing issues such as immigration and public safety.
