On November 10, SpaceX successfully launched 24 Starlink internet satellites from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The Falcon 9 rocket lifted off during a four-hour window, marking the 12th launch for this particular booster, which has previously completed 11 flights, including five dedicated to Starlink missions.
The mission's objective was to deploy the satellites into low Earth orbit (LEO) approximately 65 minutes post-launch. Following liftoff, the Falcon 9's first stage was expected to return for a vertical landing on the droneship 'A Shortfall of Gravitas' stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.
This launch is part of SpaceX's broader initiative to enhance global internet connectivity through its Starlink megaconstellation, which currently comprises over 6,500 active satellites. Nearly 70% of the 106 Falcon 9 missions conducted in 2024 have been focused on expanding this network.
