The opening of Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service's new fire control room has been delayed until spring 2025. The facility was initially slated to be operational by the end of 2024.
The postponement follows Suffolk County Council's decision to terminate a partnership with Cambridgeshire County Council for a shared control room.
Steve Wiles, Suffolk County Council's cabinet member for public protection, attributed the delay to prioritizing the implementation of a new mobilising system in Cambridgeshire. He stated that this support is crucial for maintaining safe and effective operations during the transition period.
