In a recent interview with LRT KLASIKA, Mykola Tochytskyj, Ukraine's Minister of Culture and Information, discussed the vital role of culture in the country's resilience and recovery during the ongoing war. Tochytskyj highlighted the need to attract more students to art faculties, emphasizing that art is essential for the nation's strength and survival.

He outlined three key elements for the return of Ukrainians who have left the country: security, enabling conditions for realization, and maintaining a strong connection with their homeland. Tochytskyj stressed the importance of cultural initiatives in providing a sense of security and belonging for Ukrainians abroad.

Tochytskyj also emphasized the need to support Ukrainian artists and cultural institutions, both within Ukraine and in the diaspora. He advocated for providing opportunities for young artists to study abroad, believing that this will foster a new generation of artists with a broader perspective.

Tochytskyj addressed the complex issue of Russian culture, stating that the current cultural landscape in Russia has no place in democratic societies. He argued for a cultural shift in Russia that promotes freedom, independence, and justice.
