US Presents Ukraine Conflict Resolution Plan; Awaits Response at London Meeting

The US government, under the Trump administration, has presented a confidential document outlining potential solutions to the Ukrainian conflict to Ukrainian officials in Paris. The proposals have also been shared with high-ranking European officials.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the US is awaiting a response from Kiev, expected at a meeting in London later this week, before presenting the plan to Moscow. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the US might halt negotiation efforts if key issues remain unresolved in the coming weeks.

The proposed terms reportedly include the US potentially recognizing Crimea as Russian territory, barring Ukraine from joining NATO, and designating the area around the Zaporozhie nuclear plant as neutral territory. While some Western officials believe the proposals do not fully address Russian demands, the US is not suggesting limits on Ukrainian forces or hindering Western military support to Kiev.

Ukraine has reportedly expressed willingness to agree to a 30-day ceasefire if the Kremlin reciprocates. However, Russia claims that Kiev violated a previous Easter truce and a moratorium on energy infrastructure attacks mediated by the US.
