Switzerland Allocates CHF 1.5 Billion for Ukraine Reconstruction Program

Bern, Switzerland - On February 12, 2025, the Swiss Federal Council announced a CHF 1.5 billion allocation from its international cooperation budget for the 2025-2028 country program supporting reconstruction, reform, and sustainable development in Ukraine. This marks the beginning of a twelve-year federal support process.

The program prioritizes the protection of the civilian population, peace-building efforts, economic recovery, and the strengthening of Ukrainian institutions. Ambassador Jacques Gerber is responsible for implementing the program.

The 2025-2028 program focuses on economic recovery by supporting Ukrainian SMEs and rebuilding infrastructure, public services by supporting health, education, and energy sectors, and protection of civilians through emergency aid and humanitarian mine clearance. Partnerships with authorities, the private sector, and NGOs are crucial for the program's success.

This commitment underscores Switzerland's long-term support for Ukraine and its people, aiming to provide a foundation for a just and sustainable peace.
