Temples in Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, India, experienced a surge in devotees during the Chaitra Navratri festival. The main Bhagwati and Durga temples were particularly crowded as people came to offer prayers. Devotees worshipped Mata Brahmacharini, the second form of the Goddess Durga, with temples resounding with recitations of the Mata Saptashati Path. Women presented traditional offerings, and young girls were honored as part of the Navaja tradition. The Durga temples in New Tehri, including Chandrabadani, Kunjapuri, and Surkanda Devi temples, also saw a large influx of worshippers seeking blessings for happiness and prosperity. In Ghansali, the Rajrajeshwari and Jwalamukhi temples, along with other Siddhapeeths, celebrated the festival with continuous worship and special prayers. At the Jwalamukhi Siddhapeeth, priests performed sacred baths and adorned the Goddess's idol. Musicians played drums and sang Durga Stuti and Jagars, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Temple committees noted increased participation from local and প্রবাসী devotees in this year's Navratri celebrations, which commenced on March 30, 2025, and will culminate with Rama Navami on April 6.
