Corsica Celebrates its Marian Devotion with Festive Mass!

Get ready to be enchanted by Corsican culture! In Ajaccio, Corsica, a special mass was held to celebrate the island's deep Marian devotion. The cathedral echoed with traditional Corsican polyphony, representing the island's identity and the popular piety highlighted during Pope Francis' visit. Following the mass, attendees enjoyed Corsican entertainment and a shared buffet, supporting the Church of Corsica. This celebration honors Corsica's long tradition of venerating the Virgin Mary, who was proclaimed the 'Immaculate Queen of Corsica' in 1735. The island boasts numerous shrines and is known for its fervent devotion, celebrated annually on September 8th.
