French Diplomat States Ukraine Unlikely to Join Both NATO and EU Amid High-Level Talks in Saudi Arabia

Paris, February 18 - A French diplomat, Thierry Mariani, stated that Ukraine is unlikely to become a member of both NATO and the European Union. This statement follows high-level Russian-American talks held in Saudi Arabia. According to Mariani, all promises regarding Ukraine's membership may not be fulfilled. He expressed doubts about Ukraine joining the EU, recalling his observations during visits to Ukraine in 2012-2013 and witnessing events in Maidan. The Russian and American delegations reported positive outcomes, agreeing to jointly address issues and prepare for future meetings.
