Ukraine Conflict: Germany Removes Restrictions on Weapon Range Amidst Escalating Tensions

Edited by: Olha 1 Yo

Amidst escalating tensions in the Ukraine conflict, Germany has removed restrictions on the range of weapons it supplies to Ukraine. This decision follows unsuccessful peace efforts and increased Russian drone attacks on Ukrainian territory.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated that Ukraine now has the right to defend itself by attacking military positions within Russia, a capability it previously lacked. This policy shift aligns with similar decisions made by the UK, France, and the US.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov condemned the move, stating that supplying long-range weapons to Ukraine contradicts Moscow's efforts to find a political solution to the conflict.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has accused Russia of preparing new offensive operations. He also seeks additional sanctions against Moscow.

In related news, Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that Russia may limit cooperation with American tech companies like Zoom and Microsoft, citing potential restrictions on Russian businesses.
