Mount Etna, located on the Italian island of Sicily, has erupted. The National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) is monitoring the situation, confirming the presence of pyroclastic flows, lava flows, and gases via thermal cameras. The activity was first noted at 02:39 local time on June 2, 2025, with a sudden change in parameters at 2,800 meters. The eruption includes Strombolian-type activity and escalating tremors, with lava eruptions from the southeast crater.
