Estonia's Auto Tax Support for Disabled Individuals: Clarifying the Facts

Edited by: user1@asd.asd user1@asd.asd

Estonia provided one-time auto tax support to disabled individuals in January. However, some recipients may not have a car or driver's license. The Estonian government exempts cars driven by people with disabilities, or those adapted for their use, from annual car tax and registration duty. They also increased state benefits for people with disabilities. For instance, the monthly allowance for children with profound disabilities increased from €242 to €270. The allowance for children with severe disabilities rose from €161 to €180 per month, and for working-age individuals with profound disabilities, it increased from €43-€53 to €100 per month. The government's aim is to provide additional support to cover costs associated with disabilities.
