A Tesla showroom in Tigard, Oregon, was damaged by gunfire for the second time in a week on March 13, 2025. According to the Tigard Police Department, more than a dozen shots were fired at the building and vehicles around 4:15 a.m. local time, causing extensive damage. No injuries were reported, though a security guard was present during the incident. The Tigard Police are collaborating with federal agencies, including the FBI and ATF, to investigate the shootings. An ATF explosive detection dog was used to search for shell casings. Authorities are also reviewing surveillance footage and collecting evidence from the scene. These attacks are part of a series of incidents targeting Tesla dealerships across the country. While the motivation is under investigation, police are aware of politically motivated vandalism targeting Tesla due to CEO Elon Musk's role in President Trump's administration. Protests have occurred at Tesla showrooms nationwide, and some Tesla owners are expressing concerns. Similar incidents have included arson, graffiti, and property damage. The FBI has launched a task force to investigate the attacks.
