Available to Gemini Advanced subscribers, this tool synthesizes information from across the internet, providing structured reports with sources cited directly in Google Docs. Deep Research, previously launched on the web portal and Android, allows users to pose complex research questions, which Gemini then breaks down into a step-by-step plan, conducting searches, analyzing sources, and refining findings in real-time. This 'agentic' approach aims to simulate human research methods, offering a more comprehensive and reliable alternative to standard chatbot responses. While subject to daily usage limits, Deep Research currently runs on Gemini 1.5 Pro, with plans to upgrade to the more powerful 2.0 Pro in the future.
