California-based Beewise is combating bee population decline with its AI-powered BeeHomes. These hives utilize AI and robotics to monitor and treat bee colonies, thereby mitigating the risk of colony collapse disorder. In June, Beewise successfully secured $50 million in Series D funding, bringing the total capital raised to nearly $170 million. The BeeHome 4 model boasts a heat chamber that eliminates 99% of Varroa mites without the use of chemicals. Currently, over 1,240 BeeHomes are in operation throughout the United States, contributing to crop pollination and biodiversity conservation.
