Brazilian Air Force Reports Surge in UFO Sightings

Recent reports from the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) reveal a significant increase in UFO sightings, with around 30 reports logged in 2022 alone. Most sightings occurred in the southern regions, particularly in Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina.

Key sightings include:

  • February 7, 2022: A pilot observed a circular object emitting red and green lights near Navegantes, SC, claiming it flew ten times faster than a commercial airplane.

  • April 20, 2022: A pilot reported a stationary UFO near Porto Alegre, RS, that changed size and color (white/orange) while being observed for four consecutive days.

  • January 21, 2022: A pilot flying over Ilha Comprida, SP, saw four to five fast-moving objects with white lights, estimating their speed at eight times the speed of sound.

  • February 5, 2022: A commercial pilot reported seeing five to six UFOs resembling airport beacons while flying at 38,000 feet near Porto Alegre.

  • April 2022: A pilot on a Brasília/Marabá route spotted a yellowish-white light performing circular motions above 34,000 feet.

  • August 23, 2022: A pilot over Belém, PA, reported two star-shaped objects but failed to capture them on video.

The FAB has transferred all documents related to unidentified aerial phenomena from 1952 to 2023 to the National Archive for public access. However, the FAB does not conduct studies on these sightings, merely cataloging reports from third parties.

As of now, nearly 1,000 UFO-related records exist in Brazil, though not all are attributed to extraterrestrial activity.
