Snoop Dogg Defends Crypto Ball Performance Amid Backlash

Snoop Dogg has addressed the criticism he received for performing at the Crypto Ball, an event celebrating the inauguration of US President Donald Trump. The rapper, known for his past criticisms of Trump, defended his decision, stating he has "nothing but love and respect" for the president.

Snoop, who performed alongside Soulja Boy and Rick Ross at the event, took to Instagram Live to address the backlash. He emphasized his unwavering support for the Black community and encouraged his followers to focus on their own lives.

Snoop's performance at the Crypto Ball sparked controversy, with many fans expressing disappointment and accusing him of selling out. The event, which was described as a "celebratory setting" to honor "America's first 'crypto president,'" was attended by tech and cryptocurrency tycoons. Trump himself did not attend but has expressed support for cryptocurrency in his 2024 campaign.

Snoop's change in attitude towards Trump stems from the president's pardon of Michael Harris, the co-founder of Snoop's first label, Death Row Records. Harris was in federal prison for over 30 years after being convicted of attempted murder and drug trafficking in 1988.

Despite the backlash, Snoop remains unfazed, reiterating his commitment to the Black community and his personal beliefs. He urged his followers to "get your life right" and "stop worrying about mine."
