HBO has made a significant announcement regarding a casting call for its upcoming television adaptation of the beloved Harry Potter series. The company is actively searching for child actors to portray the iconic characters of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley.
The casting process will follow the tradition of mass auditions, similar to those conducted for the original film series. Interested applicants must be between the ages of 9 and 11 by April 2025 and must reside in the United Kingdom or Ireland.
In an effort to promote inclusivity and diversity, HBO encourages submissions from qualified actors regardless of ethnicity, disability, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other legally protected status. Interested children are required to submit two video applications. The first video, lasting no more than 30 seconds, should feature the child telling a story or reciting a poem of their choice that is unrelated to Harry Potter. The second video should be a one-minute introduction, providing personal details about themselves and their families.
